This week I watched a documentary about Princess Diana from Netflix called “The Story of Diana”. I was seven when she tragically died so I can’t say I would actually remember much about her, but gosh have I read and hear about her afterwards? Yes.
But what I didn’t know is that she was only 19 when she married Charles and they had only met around 12 times before the wedding! That’s crazy.
She might have become an icon, famous for her beauty and fashion choices (and of course, her marriage to the prince). But aside from these, she was at some point patron of over 100 charities across the globe. After her divorce from Charles, she developed a reputation for working tirelessly on behalf of charitable causes, using her fame to raise awareness of a number of highly important humanitarian issues of the day; like AIDS, young homeless people and land mines.
In a world like this, we surely would need more people like Diana.
