4 Days in Copenhagen

Greetings from Copenhagen,

The happiest country in the world – home of hygge, great design and friendly locals. Copenhagen never disappoints and I had such a great weekend.

I arrived to Copenhagen airport early on Thursday morning and made my way to Nørrebro to Minna’s flat with the metro and S-train. The journey took me around 45 min.

On the first day I was wandering around alone, in the drizzling rain wearing my trusty rain coast, as Minna had to work. I went shopping at Beau Marché, Stilleben, Acne Archive, Urban Room No. 11 had tea and croissant at Mirabelle and a small lunch in Torvehallerne. Ended up walking 20 km that day and didn’t even realize how tired my legs where until I was sitting on the buss going back to the flat in the afternoon.

Friday me and Minna took the train to Frederiksborg Castle. Gosh, it was like a proper Disney princess castle. We wandered the halls, admired all the amazing details and finished the tour by a walk in the garden. Decided to enjoy our dinner on a terrace in Hillerød before going back to Copenhagen. In the evening we cycled to Superkilen to admire the cherry blossoms. While going back home we stopped to have chai latte in a lovely cafe at Jægersborggade, the looming fireplace and cute atmosphere were way too invitive to just pass by.

Saturday we cycled to a shopping centre in Frederiksberg. As it was such a beautiful and sunny day, we decided to cycle to Østerbro and have ice cream at OLUFs. After that we continued to the centre at the beautiful street of Krusemyntegade to take some photos with the colorful houses.

Sunday we started the day at Nyhavn after which we headed to Christianshavn. We climbed up to Vor Freezers Kirke to admire the views before stopping at Magasin shopping centre. After that we had lunch at Papirøen which offers a handful of creative buildings with everything from art to showrooms and street food. The options were endless from Tacos to Burgers and Falafels to Fish&Chips.

Before I even noticed it was Sunday evening and time to fly back home again. We managed to do a lot in 4 days but at the same time relax and enjoy our time together. The weekend started rainy but all of a sudden changed completely on Saturday – and I couldn’t have wished for better trip, company nor weather.
