8 French Films to Watch


Are you a fan of French films like me? There is just such a certain kind of feeling in them that makes me happy. So just cozy up indoors and enjoy, perhaps with some chocolate and red wine 😉

What would you add to the list? I am always glad to get some recommendations 🙂


1. Un peu, Beaucoup, Aveuglément
A man who needs silence to work is forced to coexist with a pianist who cannot live without music.


2. Intouchables
An unlikely friendship develops between a wealthy quadriplegic and his caretaker who comes from a very different background.

3. Hors de Prix
Through a set of wacky circumstances, a young gold digger mistakenly woos a mild-mannered bartender thinking he’s a wealthy suitor.


4. Le Fabuleux Destin d’Amélie Poulain
Yes, everyone has probably already seen Amélie and love it as much as I do. But how could one make a list of French films without it?


5. La Famille Bélier
A young girl with deaf parents discovers she has an amazing singing voice. Be prepared to cry like a baby.


6. Un Long Dimanche de Fiançailles
The movie tells the story of a young woman’s relentless search for her fiancé, who has disappeared from the trenches of the Somme during World War One.


7. De rouille et d’os
Put in charge of his young son, Alain leaves Belgium for Antibes to live with his sister and her husband as a family. Alain’s bond with Stephanie, a killer whale trainer, grows deeper after Stephanie suffers a horrible accident.


8. La Vie d’une autre

A young woman falls in love, then wakes up a decade later as successful business woman and the mother of a young boy, who is also in the middle of a divorce.
