Greetings from Tasmania,

The boat ride was shaky, I had this feeling in my stomach – the one you get from a ride at an amusement park. In the end I fell asleep, no idea what time it was and how far we had already sailed.

We stayed one week in Tasmania and I am so glad we did. As Australia is so huge, we decided to head to the island instead, so we would actually have time to explore almost all of it. We arrived early to Devonport and got some coffee and tea from a gas station before driving to a lighthouse nearby.

During our stay we visited Bridestove Lavender Estate where I had a lovely Lavender Ice Cream. I think it was way prettier then how it tasted. From there we continued to Freycinet National Park where we had a nice walk to the Wineglass Bay Lookout the next day. We stayed 3 nights in Hobart and explored the surroundings. We drove to Mt. Wellington and took a ferry to Bruny Island. I fed a kangaroo in Bonorong Wildlife Sanctuary as well as petted a koala and a wombat. In our final days we hiked in Cradle Mountain National Park. It was such a beautiful place, you would have loved it.

Would have been great to have you there with us, maybe next time.
